Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how QuickCart, a shopping list and cart management application, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app. QuickCart is not an e‑commerce website and does not sell products.

Information we collect

  • Account information (optional): If you sign in via our trusted authentication provider, we may receive basic profile information such as name, email, and a user ID.
  • App data: Shopping items, quantities, prices, cart names, and timestamps you create in the app.
  • Preferences: Theme (light/dark/system), currency, and plan.
  • Diagnostics: Basic, non‑sensitive technical information (e.g., error logs) used to improve reliability. We do not collect sensitive device identifiers.

Where your data is stored

  • Free users: Data is stored locally on your device/browser (e.g., local storage). Clearing your browser/app storage may remove this data.
  • Pro users: Data is stored securely in our cloud database and can sync across devices when you are signed in.

How we use your information

  • To operate and provide the app’s core features (lists, carts, sync for Pro).
  • To maintain and improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • To communicate essential service updates or policy changes.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing or promotional emails without your explicit consent.

Cookies and local storage

QuickCart uses necessary cookies/local storage to remember your preferences and maintain sessions (for signed‑in users). You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features (including sign‑in and sync) may not function properly.

Data retention

  • Local data (Free): Remains on your device until you delete it or clear app/browser storage.
  • Cloud data (Pro): Retained while your account is active. Some carts may be archived after inactivity to improve performance.

Your choices and rights

  • View, edit, and delete your items and carts within the app.
  • Sign out to stop syncing data across devices.
  • Request deletion of cloud‑stored data by contacting us (see Contact below).

Sharing of information

We do not sell your data. We may share information with trusted service providers solely to operate the app (for example, authentication and database providers). These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

QuickCart is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the app and update the “Last updated” date above.
